At age 25 Elizabeth inherited the thrown after he half sister Mary died. Many people did not like the idea of her ruling on her own. She was pressured by her council and friends to marry so there could be a male in charge along with her. She ended up ruling alone for nearly a half of century. She was considered one of England's greatest rulers with the great achievement of defeating the Spanish in an intense battle of conquering England.
